Roasted insects: what you're about to eat
House crickets (Acheta domesticus) and yellow mealworms (Tenebrio molitor), roasted and spiced. They're not ground: you'll find them whole in the tube or the bag.

What do they taste like?
Crunchy and full of flavour: they're reminiscent of peanuts, and sometimes have a note that brings shrimp to mind. First you taste the spices, then the toastiness.

Are they safe?
Yes. The house cricket and the yellow mealworm are novel foods: EFSA assessed them and the European Union authorised them. People allergic to crustaceans, molluscs or dust mites may also react to them.
